Soto Family Ministry Update August 2021

Greetings from Panama City, Panama!  We hope this newsletter finds you and yours well!

In the midst of almost 1 1/2 years into the pandemic, things have been slowly opening up little by little here in Panama.  Masks are still mandated in public throughout the entire country and there are still certain restrictions, depending on location.  Vaccinations are rolling out fairly  quickly now, thank the Lord!

This past February, what was supposed to take place in South Korea in 2020, took place at our dining room table via Zoom!  We had the honor and privilege to be commissioned as Global Missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene.  It is only by the grace of God that we were blessed by this opportunity!

Elianny, Esteban, and Esther all began the new school year this past March.  Their school began virtual only, but a couple of weeks ago our kids were able to return semi face-to-face.  They are over halfway into the school year, but are thankful for their return to learn and see classmates in person.  Elianny is now in 10th grade, Esteban is in 3rd grade, and Esther is in Kindergarten.  Esther had her first day of school in person EVER just two weeks ago!  They are all doing great in school and we thank God for that!

Now with less restrictions, we are able to make more day road trips for ministry.  We have spoken at more than a few church services, and our children have also had the opportunity to lead a couple of children’s services.  One being a church district we joined in Mexico via Zoom, and the other with the church in Las Pavas.  Technology has been an extra special tool for many this entire pandemic!   We are also still leading our local church’s Sunday morning Zoom service to minister along with those who are not able to attend in person just yet.

Although Work & Witness teams are not able to serve here physically until 2022, the Lord has blessed the churches in Panama with funds that have been sent ahead to them.  This has been a wonderful blessing and help, and has allowed the work to continue in the local churches.

We recently received large amounts of donations that our family was able to deliver to churches for them to distribute where there are needs.  Our family delivered and distributed, along with Pastor Jose, a truck load of the donations, including clothing, shoes, toys, household items, etc to the Las Pavas Church a couple of weeks ago.  This time with them reminded me of the story in the Bible of when God blessed the 5 loaves and 2 fish to feed the multitude.  We distributed the truck load of donations to the 60 or so who attended the children’s service, and I was amazed that the children each left with multiple toys and also how each family left with a large bag full of items they were in need of.  God is good!

We want to thank you so very much for your support, both prayerfully and financially.  The truth is, without your support we could not be here doing what we do.  God uses your support to bless our family, our ministry, and to so many others here in Panama.  Your faithful giving allows us to continue the work God has called us here to do.

We know the past year and a half have been difficult for many around the world.  So we want to thank you so very much from the bottom of our hearts for considering supporting our family ministry here in Panama and Meso Central Field. You can do so by going to the following link:

May God continue to bless you richly!

Our prayer requests:

-For God’s continued protection, especially with the kids being back in school.

-For our upcoming deputation plans, that the Lord will make things clear.

-For God to continue to provide for our family and ministerial needs.

-For Tammy to continue to learn and lead in her new NMI assignment, including the need for a new computer for her ministry.

-For the families we are discipling.

-For a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our lives, our churches in Panama, and the

 Meso Central Field.

Sincerely,

Eliezel, Tammy, Elianny, Esteban & Esther
